Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu Kashmir The need of a political party with a) Unambiguous stand on the right of the people of Jammu Kashmir to self determination. b) Uncompromising commitment to achieve this goal in light of basic human and moral values and the guidence provided by Islam was strongly felt. It was becoming all the more necessary because the parties lacked direction,dedication and dynamism to bring the nation out of despondency. Despite the sacrifices rendered by the masses, the shackles of Indian imperialism could not be broken and the occupying power benifitted from the mess on the political scene. The central consultative body of Jama'at-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir decided to Join APHC headed by Syed Ali Geelani and also consented in favour of a new political organization( on the basis of division of work) that would struggle to achieve the goal with full support of the state wide organization of Jama'at. It was 7th. of August 2004 when this organization was launched under the banner of "Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu Kashmir" Guiding principles
